Chapter 4 addresses the scientific practice of graphing, including a variety of experimental activities and examination of the Keeling graph and how it bears on the world carbon cycle.

Modeling the Earth and Sky, Investigations in Water, Land, and People

Modeling the Earth and Sky offers a suite of activities for a 5-week STEM investigative unit focused on water movement in and under the land and how that water and its movement impact landscapes and humans. Classroom activities emphasize the recognition and interpretation of patterns in scientific modeling and engage students in a variety of experimental, interpretive, and modeling practices. In addition to earth science, principles of physical science, as they occur in the natural world, are examined.
